Antique Vintage 1925 Photo: 10–11 Year-Old Chinese Girl

As shown. See all photos. Small tear. Found among my late mother’s belongings. At this point I’m not sure where exactly amid her things (our personal family things) this originated, but it belonged to someone in our ancestry. I’m confused by the back. It’s dated 8/4/25. So it’s essentially exactly 100 years old. Given where this seems to have been taken (China) and what other stuff I have from my maternal grandfather’s time serving during WWII, I’m surprised this is 20 years older than that. The back also refers to “SS girls.” “Winter”? “Springtime”? I’m not positive it’s not “CPC” or “CRC,” or that whoever wrote this didn’t mean “CCP.” This picture will forever be a mystery. Many Qs!

Wadded garments never improve one’s appearance. She has on the garment which Mrs. Dyksterhouse’s SS girls sent her.

9 or 10 when this was taken.
