This vintage pin is bold, golden, and impressive. No surprise since it was designed by Jose and Maria Barrera for Avon.
The pin is from a 1990 jewelry collection called 'Venetian Mist'.
The pin is a two-part beauty, with the top being a large curved shell-like pod with scrolling lines on a textured background. It holds a seafoam green stone capped in goldtone. The stone looks like stone but may actually be Lucite. The goldtone is heavily plated to last.
Back in 1989, Jose and Maria Barrera began creating designs for Avon that had a more European boldness to them. This is one of those very collectible pieces.
The pin measures 3 inches long and is 1 inch wide. The back has a secure rollover clasp. The inside of the pod is marked BARRERA FOR AVON.
Pin is in excellent vintage condition.
