Beautiful Chinese ceramic vase with a splotchy, gold & silver background. Both sides of the vase have 3 etched cranes.
The crane has been one of the most loved birds in China since ancient times. It is seen as a symbol of noble character and represents longevity. More romantically, the crane represents long-lasting love and loyalty in marriage, as the bird is monogamous and stays with one partner until death. The base has a copper-colored geometric pattern, possibly a band of stylized waves or mountains, which is also common in Chinese decorative arts.
The vase is in excellent condition.
It measures approx. 8-1/2" tall x 13" wide x 4-1/2" deep (front to back).
A few photos show red on the vase-that is just a reflection of the shirt I was wearing. The only slight red/pink is on top of the cranes heads.
